They made a request for support in purchasing a trail camera to observe mammals in the Bruce Edes Forest. Students shared that they would collect data and report back to the BCC in May with their findings. The BCC took a vote, and approved! Trail cameras are anticipated to be purchased in time for the student mammal project. Students are seeking additional opportunities in the community and within nature.

Pierce School Water Remediation Report - Round 3 Update
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to let you know that Pierce Elementary School recently completed testing for lead in drinking water. This is part of an ongoing effort related to New Hampshire state law RSA 485:17-a, which requires schools and childcare facilities to test for lead in drinking water and to act when lead is found at levels at or above 5 parts per billion (ppb). We continue to work with the New Hampshire state law to take appropriate action as necessary. The attached letter details the most recent report of water levels found at Pierce School.
We also want to share that the 5 faucets found to be above 5 ppb with lead levels were not used for drinking water, and are labeled as such. Our water drinking fountains were in compliance with state levels of drinking water on lead levels. Please click here to read the letter and report for more details.
All sample results and additional resources from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) can be viewed at gettheleadoutnh.org.
In the ConVal community, all learners will achieve academically, act thoughtfully, and contribute to the larger society.
The mission of Pierce School is to provide a personalized education, cultivate independent thinking, promote building of character, and foster the desire to learn.
