Students in grades K-4 helped cook dinner dishes with elements from the Cornucopia-facilitated garden program. We hope to continue this lovely tradition in the years to come! Students in Mrs. Powell's second-grade class explored gardening for a 7-week program this fall. Students picked all fruit and vegetables before the first frost and helped prepare the garden beds for winter. Families were invited to attend, and some of the yield was used to support the Pierce School Harvest Dinner on 10/16! Thank you second graders, and thank you, Cornucopia!
Some of our students were invited up onto their stage area with the TIGERs as they acted, sang, and danced about the importance of kindness. Bursting with examples of kindness based on children's writings and stories, this production lifted our students' spirits and taught something too. ***Kindness Counts ***encouraged our students to think about how they act toward others, encouraging them to make kindness count every day!

Kindergarteners had the beautiful opportunity to watch a chrysalis transform into a butterfly in their classroom this week. They had been feeding it milkweed leaves and tending to it for the past two weeks. Tuesday, it went through a metamorphosis and students released the butterfly in our school garden. It was impressive and students were captivated by how fast and high the butterfly took to flight!
